Program and Professional Development


The Council offers the following services:

 

Curricula and Program Development. Committed to education that is both appropriate and relevant for the learner, ICHE facilitates the development of comprehensive academic programs with special detail given to the contextual and cultural environment in which the particular institution and its students reside.

 

Vision Formation. An appropriate vision is essential for the viability of any institution and ICHE is appropriately equipped to guide participants through a process of strategic planning for the success of their institution.

 

Faculty Development. As a way to further develop faculty as an essential resource in the life of the institution, ICHE provides custom assessment and recommendations for faculty programs and policies.

 

Leadership Development. Developing leaders for the varied contexts and issues of today’s world is a principal aim of higher education. ICHE is able to provide guidance for faculty, administration, and students in the formation of effective leadership through mentoring, coursework, internships, and other systematic methods.

 

Teaching Methods. It is our belief that teaching shapes the learning experience. Specializing in Outcomes-Based Learning, ICHE is equipped to lead seminars on the improvement of teaching methodologies and the development of ongoing teacher development programs.


Accreditation


ICHE seeks to facilitate the improvement of the educational offerings of its members through its accreditation and validation services in accordance with the Characteristics of Excellence in Higher Education stated in the ICHE Bylaws. The focus of our program and degree accreditation and validation services is with the social sciences, education, business, and other fields that are interdisciplinary in nature.
